The Rental Guys (Pty) Ltd ("The Rental Guys", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
When you create an account, request a quote, or place a rental order, we may collect: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, banking reference details used for EFT payment verification, and records of the equipment you rent or purchase. We also keep copies of signed rental agreements and proof of payment documents you upload to your account.
We use your information to process rental bookings and purchases, verify EFT payments, issue invoices, quotes, and statements, coordinate equipment delivery and collection, communicate order and account updates, and comply with our legal and tax obligations (including SARS VAT reporting).
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with delivery partners to arrange equipment drop-off and collection, and with our banking and accounting service providers strictly for payment verification and record-keeping purposes.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and disclosure. Uploaded documents (such as proof of payment and signed agreements) are stored securely and are only accessible to authorised staff.
We retain account, order, invoice, and agreement records for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our statutory financial record-keeping requirements.
